...angie brown. i use diverse materials such as fabric, found and altered papers, magazine clippings, three-dimensional objects, and oil paint to create heavily layered mixed media collages mirroring the process of life. things are added and others torn away. textures and patterns evolve into the varied topography of time and journey, of roads taken and not taken. i work with the tension of opposites, the play of the structured against the chaotic, the geometric against the organic. i am currently exploring issues involving the current socio-economic climate, the effects of reckless consumerism, and the industries of fashion, beauty, and advertising on both the collective and individual identity.
i have 10+ years of design experience and am well-versed in the adobe creative creative suite. i am especially fond of typography and illustration. i work as a graphic designer at a large law firm and freelance when my cat is asleep and does not require my supervision/entertainment.
